We're bringing you Florida Keys inspiration this week, taking you on a little trip through Islamorada. This village of six islands is about halfway in between Miami and Key West.
Pierre's Restaurant and Morada Bay Café are two restaurants and event venues located on the same property, at mile marker 81.6, bayside. The Café is more relaxed and casual; decorated with a surf and sail decor, there are a few brightly colored tables inside but most are outdoors nestled in the sand and overlooking the bay. The menu is Caribbean-American and family-friendly, with a focus on seafood and classic favorites.
Pierre's is the upscale sister property, a beautiful large plantation-style house with seating inside and out on the veranda; the decor is global, with Indian, Moroccan and African accents. The cuisine is classic French with influences from around the world.
Both restaurants spill out onto a wide white sandy beach that leads down to the bay and allows for gorgeous sunset views; ceremonies take place here, where guests can look out over the water.
For the reception, there is a lot of flexibility and range of pricing: for events under 40, you can utilize just the beach area of the café, or the beachfront and a private dining room at Pierre's; for a guest count up to 100 (at Pierre's) or 200 (Morada Bay), you'll need to rent the entire restaurant out and close to the public.
Gorgeous property, no? The views are lovely by day, and at night the tiki torches are lit on the beach and the candles inside the restaurants - it's romantic, cozy and a truly unique experience. For more views of the property, particularly the inside of Pierre's, check out yesterday's post on a stunning wedding photographed by KT Merry.
