We have a pretty little destination wedding treat for you today! Victoria and Rahsan were married in July at the Tranquility Bay Beach House Resort in Marathon, in the Florida Keys; Bob and Mariela from Bob Care Photography were there to capture all of the loveliness.
The couple combined a purple and orange color palette with shell and beach-inspired details. It was very much a DIY affair, with Victoria's sisters providing the planning and coordination, flowers, make up and decor.
Isn't Victoria stunning? That dress looks like it was designed to suit her perfectly.
Victoria carried a shell bouquet (in shades of orange to fit the color palette) and her grandmother's prayer book.
I love the joy on their faces and the beautiful ocean backdrop behind them. This is the kind of image destination-seeking couples are dreaming about!
Key West Strings provided the music for the ceremony.
Victoria's bridal party looked so lovely attired all in white - one carried the rings in a small shell-covered box, the others carried orange-hued conch shells.
Key West Cakes provided the elegantly tropical cake, which was decorated with bird of paradise flowers and bands of purple and orange.
Gorgeous, right? Here's a little more info about the couple:
Rahsan, 35, works at the Pentagon. Victoria, 27, is an artist and arts advocate. They live in D.C.
How they met: She, laid up after a car accident, tried to find Wi-Fi in her apartment building. "I noticed a signal offering Internet for $5 a month, called the number, and it was him." Rahsan's first impression: "Who wears pointy-toe, triangle-shaped memory foam flip-flops with a smile?"
First date: Dinner on the Southwest waterfront and the National Cherry Blossom Festival fireworks.
The proposal: Rahsan visited Victoria in New York City, where they had dinner at a restaurant named Lunella (her late grandmother's name) and took a carriage ride through Central Park. He then shared his BlackBerry headphones and played "Marry Me" by Train on YouTube. The video buffered as he popped the question.
