Trash the Dress: Tricia & Michael in Marathon, Florida Keys

We've got something fun for you on this Monday morning! The amazingly talented Bob and Mariela of Bob Care Photography sent us this special treat: a trash the dress session in Marathon that included the whole wedding party.

Tricia and Michael came down from New York to have the beautiful destination wedding of their dreams at Hawks Cay Resort. Tricia decided early on to do a day-after session, but not just her and her husband - she invited (in fact, demanded) the whole wedding party to join them on a fun, wet day at Sombrero Beach in Marathon.

We asked Tricia for a little background info: "Four years ago I was spending a typical friday night at a local watering hole with friends. I spotted Mike walk through the door and thought he was so handsome. I found myself frequently looking for him around the place (and later found out he did the same for me). Later in the evening Mike got up to do some Pearl Jam karaoke - after some liquid courage, I joined him for the last couple lines. When the song ended and just before the night was over, Mike asked if he could call me. He then came back every friday night for about a month or so to see me. In that time, we really connected and finally started dating. The rest is history!"

"When my husband asked me to marry him (after the initial excitement) one of my first steps was pin-pointing a photographer that could shoot the most fun, original and romantic "Trash the Dress" pictures. That's right, I wanted to trash my wedding dress. I mean, what was I going to do with an expensive dress after wearing it only once? Put it in a box and place it under my bed for the rest of my life, in the small chance that maybe one day my daughter would want to wear it? Nope, I wanted to wreck it, have a ton of fun, and get some unique wedding pictures in the process - and I wanted the rest of the bridal party to join in as well.

"I got this idea a couple years ago when I saw some "Trash the Dress" photography in a magazine, the photos I saw made me fall in love with the whole concept. I HAD to do it. Initially when I told people about my plan to ruin my dress, they thought I was nuts, until they saw the pictures. We hired Bob & Mariela Care to take both our wedding and our "Trash the Dress" pictures and I'm so glad we did - we couldn't be more pleased. My husband and I, the rest of the bridal party, and our parents had so much fun with this shoot!!! Guess what? My dress isn't even trashed, it's just a little dirty, but even if it was destroyed, tell me these pictures weren't worth it."
