The Player's Club Restaurant in Wellington is near and dear to me (it was one of my father's favorite places, and where we celebrated his 60th birthday) and I think it's a hidden gem of wedding venue, so when Eduardo Ponce sent this wedding over to us I was excited. And then I opened up the photos, and I fell in love... with Eduardo's edgy, modern style; with the couple, Ingrid's over-the-top gorgeous smile, and their obvious love for each other; and with what looked like a really fun and meaningful day.
To top it off: it was 11/11/11! This is one of those weddings where the pictures just speak for themselves, but lucky us - Ingrid and Wayne shared some really special stories, too. Grab your coffee and prepare for a treat!
Ingrid and Wayne each spoke about their fairy tale courtship...
Ingrid: "My husband, Wayne, and I met in high school. He sat next to me in class and I felt early on that we were meant to be just friends. He was a good guy, very respectful and sweet, but I was not interested. He knew early on that I was wrong. We both parted ways when we went to college, but two years later I transferred to the University of Florida and he was there as well. We were best friends, and I did not want to cross that line from friendship to relationship. One day, I realized everything I ever prayed and dreamed for was right in front of me. He was always loyal as a friend, very kind and greatly selfless. He was the prince charming I didn't recognize until it was the right time. I had fallen for my best friend."
And Wayne: "My wife Ingrid didn't know what I knew the moment I met her. She was my dream girl from the start. She wanted to be friends, for a long while, and I respected that. After asking her out multiple times, I learned I needed to be her friend. That still didn't change my feelings for her, it just meant I would have to wait. After seven years of pursuit, my best friend became my love. She felt the same way and had fallen for me. After dating for a little while, I asked her to marry me inside of Disney's Cinderella's castle. Now, I am blessed to call my best friend my wife. It was worth the wait."
"We chose to have our reception at the Player’s Club Bar and Restaurant in Wellington. We wanted a space that was unique and offered more than just a ballroom. From the moment we walked in, we fell in love. It was such a gorgeous atmosphere with the open structure and the stunning hanging chandelier above the dance floor. Their staff was so accommodating and kind to us. We used Sunsplash Events to coordinate all the floral design and decoration to accommodate an intimate and vintage appeal. The team at Sunsplash Events are so dedicated and professional as they put great attention to detail. They took our ideas and made them even greater than we could imagine. It was absolutely flawless. We were left speechless at all of the flowers and decor.
"It was such an honor to work with Eduardo... He has an eye for taking moments from the day and packing them with full emotion through photography. He is not traditional in his style, as he focuses on the feel of the day and documents it."
"We chose to get married on November 11, 2011 and we took full advantage of the whimsical "Make-A-Wish" theme. We had a jar for guests to fill with wishes to us and another for guests to take a wish for themselves. Before the ceremony, we chose to do a private prayer, blindfolded, so that we could pray for all of our wishes of the future. For favors, we gave out goodie bags filled with chocolate, caramel popcorn and mints to keep our guests snacking after a night full of dancing. We also used a portion to donate to a family in the Make A Wish foundation. We felt very blessed the way our relationship has turned out and we wanted to bless someone else in return.
"Advice we would give to other couples is to stand back and have private moments together. A lot of the time you are being pulled in so many directions. We ended the night slow dancing to the song of our first dance again. This time it was a private dance. We soaked it all in as our guests were waiting for us outside with sparklers in hand. It was all a wish come true."
One more fun tidbit: Eduardo is Ingrid's cousin, and Ingrid is also a photographer (we can't wait to see her new site, that's now in progress).
Thank you, Eduardo, for sharing your talent with us; the wedding, reception, bridal party... all of it simply lovely and filled with heartfelt joy. And to Ingrid and Wayne, congrats! We're so glad you were here to tell us your beautiful story.

Emilia.
Congratulations Guys!!!! It is a beautiful story. We wish you the best.
