We have such a special treat for you on this beautiful Tuesday morning! When Jessica Masi of JCG Events, LLC (one of our guide members and absolute fave planners) sent us this stunner of a Keys wedding, I immediately fell in love... the oceanfront setting of the Coconut Palm Inn is charmingly idyllic, and Endearing Studios captured every moment of Chris and Haley's day so beautifully. Jessica artfully blended all the elements of a stylish and elegant soiree with the laid-back beachy feel of the Keys, and the result is simply beautiful.
In Jessica's words: "Haley and Chris wed on December 10, 2011 at Coconut Palm Inn, Tavernier Florida. This is a gorgeous boutique venue with breathtaking views to the ocean. When I first met with Haley and Chris to plan their wedding it was a couple of months before their big day and there was still a lot that needed to be finalized. At that time only the venue was confirmed. We really had to move the planning process into high gear to make their wedding dreams become a reality."
Are you loving the mix of stylish elegance with the barefoot Keys vibe? Jessica gave us some insight on how she helped the couple achieve it:
"One of the first things that Haley mentioned to me was that she wanted an elegant, fairy tale 'ballroom' kind of wedding. This presented a creative challenge since the venue is more accommodating for a typical beach wedding. I wanted to make sure that we bought that elegant feel to this wedding that Haley wanted, while still incorporating the natural feel of the beach and ocean. In order to achieve this we had long tables with willow branch floral arrangements and light pink peonies to soften the look. We placed ivory linens on the tables and added gold chiavari chairs along with gold framed table numbers. To accomplish that ballroom elegant feel, we added a white draped tent to the dinner reception area and hung beautiful chandeliers from the ceiling of the tent. Then we added blue up-lighting to create a pretty contrast against the glow of the candle lit tables and chandeliers. For the final touches we had the venue string bulb lights from the trees and we added ivory paper lanterns.
"In order to incorporate the beach and ocean backdrop we choose a menu that matched the setting. During the cocktail reception we had raw bar named after the groom: "Chris' Raw Bar". This was something that was important to the groom since he loves seafood. The raw bar included stone crabs, raw oysters, and conch ceviche. For a welcome drink we added an edible sugar hibiscus flower to the champagne for the that tropical touch. The caterer for the evening, Parties by Pat, had delectable food stations (in addition to the raw bar) for the main reception that included menu items such as mango salsa mahi-mahi."
They wrapped up the evening with the "Hora Loca" (crazy hour): the staff passed out masks, inflatable instruments and noisemakers, and guests danced with them and had a blast in the photo booth.
Jessica, thanks so much for sharing this bit of gorgeousness with us... and congrats to the newlyweds, Haley and Chris!
