There's something so romantic and passionate about a deep, lush red color in weddings... of course, it helps when the couple getting married is so beautiful and so obviously in love! Elaine Palladino Photography was on hand to capture Chris and Ashley's 'Spanish Garden' wedding in Miami, and it was filled with beautiful florals (red peonies, roses, calla lilies and carnations), rich color, and personal, meaningful details. As Elaine put it best, "They were so in love and all the details reflected their flawless style!"
From the beautiful bride, Ashley: "Our theme was a Spanish garden. Neither of us have Spanish roots, but we love the food, the music and the colors of Spain. Not to mention, Chris is a huge FC Barcelona fan! We wanted the mood to be very romantic and intimate."
The couple filled their day with many personal details: they gave away traditional Jamaican wedding cake to guests as one of their favors; Ashley had a groom's cake made with a soccer/Barcelona theme for Chris, and her garter was handmade with Barcelona emblem; instead of the traditional 'sign-in book', they had everyone sign around their picture along with writing the first word that comes to mind when they think of marriage; and they had everyone paint one stroke on a canvas with different color paints, with plans of hanging the final masterpiece in their home. And Ashley danced with all of her uncles and cousins instead of a traditional father/daughter dance, which she also did at her Sweet 16 party.
Ashley shared her most memorable moment of the day with us: "Our first dance. One of the bridesmaids and best friend had a personalized version of our 'song' produced by the artist. We didn't think it was 'first dance' material when we were choosing our selection for the day, so we opted for a more traditional song. The DJ cut the song in the middle, and then the surprise came... It was very memorable and 'til this day our guests still speak about how cool and unique that was."
She also passed on advice for other couples: "Be aware of your budget, do not take the stress out on one another, enjoy every moment of the day, and make a list in advance (which you will provide to your photographer) of people whom you want to take pictures with on the big day."
