Ready for a little outdoor adventure today? I fell so immediately in love with this Jupiter engagement session sent to us by Stacey at Poirier Wedding Photography! The oh-so-pretty Riverbend Park, the fun-loving, outdoorsy couple, the cute camping setup that so perfectly reflects their personalities... and of course, their oh-my-gosh-adorable chihuahua who (almost) stole the show.
Although Sarla and Daniel have known each other since middle school, they didn't start dating until a few years ago, when they were brought together by friends. Their shared interests, adventurous spirit, love of new experiences and balance as a couple keeps them together. Says Sarla, "We keep each other 'in check'. I think because we have slightly different personalities but have so much in common, it comes together so nicely that we experience things in every way we can. " With their love of the great outdoors, a camping session at Riverbend Park in Jupiter was the perfect choice for their shoot!
We asked Sarla how they met and were engaged: We have known each other since middle school, and managed to stay acquaintances through out the years. Then one day, about 4 years ago, mutual friends brought us back together at a local hangout where a little awkwardness and miniature sparks flew. Not realizing how close we lived to each other, we decide that we should hangout one day. Neither of us were "our types". But somehow, both of us decided to take a chance. And now 4 years later, through thick and thin, we are more in love than ever and ready to start a new life together.
On x-mas day 2011 both our families got together and had a beautiful x-mas dinner. After dinner Danny gave me a gift to open that he "forgot" earlier on. I opened the gift to find a little remote control. I was then instructed to turn it on. After turning right, and standing up... a huge sign came on that said "marry me". I turned back around to find Danny on one knee with a ring in his hand. I said yes of course :) It was the best x-mas I've ever had and one I'll never forget. Having our families there with us to enjoy that special moment with us was awesome.
Sarla tells us that the wedding planning is going well: "I wouldn't call myself a bridezilla, but I'm very organized and have things under control." They've chosen their five year anniversary for the wedding date, and in keeping with their outdoorsy lifestyle, the theme and details will be eco-friendly, nature oriented and very personal. Says Sarla, "All the small things that mean so much in our lives are being incorporated into the wedding."
Congrats, you two! We wish you all the best, and thank you so much for sharing your story with us!
