We always love opening our inbox to emails from happy, over the moon, excited brides-to-be with their engagement story. So when today's bride, Janice, sent over her story and their engagement photos (shot by Jonathan Scott with JSP Studio) I was excited to share it with you! Janice and Marco met in Miami, so what better place to have a day out in the sun for their engagement session than in South Beach!
The couple met during a Labor Day weekend in South Beach. The bride said that she left her table at the bar for five minutes to return and find Marco sitting at the table... a few years later and they returned to South Beach for their engagement photos. As they both told me, Miami was the beginning of their LOVE STORY!
Janice shared the adorable story of their engagement: It was a beautiful, summer night on August 5, 2011. We went out to dinner on what I thought was to celebrate Marco's 30th Birthday! While enjoying our dinner, the gentleman at the table behind us decided to (on ALL days) propose to his girlfriend! I of course being the girl I am, was so excited for the newly engaged girl. What I couldn't understand is why Marco appeared so uneasy? After dinner, Marco and I went on a walk to look at the NYC skyline. We sat on a bench overlooking the city and Marco asked me to close my eyes, he said he had a surprise for me. I thought that maybe it was a vacation, but instead it was... A BEAUTIFUL RING!!! He opened the box (which lit up!) and he said, "Janice, will you marry me?". I immediately started crying and said, "Yes!". (I realized later that he was so uneasy at the restaurant because that was his A plan, to propose at dinner. I loved the actual proposal, it was perfect!)
The New Jersey based couple is getting married at the Grove Isle Hotel & Spa, overlooking Miami, on October 13th. Janice shared what they were most looking forward to during the big day: We are looking forward to seeing each other for the first time at the "altar" and most importantly dancing the night away with our friends and family! Marco and I value our friends and family very much and we want everyone to have a good time. We want people to know that this is everyone's celebration of love and happiness. Both of our parents have been married for over 40 years and we are very proud of that! Together we want to celebrate our love for one another but also we want to express our gratitude to our families and friends for all that they have done for us!
Janice told me that they would HIGHLY recommend engagement photos to couples planning their wedding. She said they absolutely loved their engagement photo session! The engagement photo session gave us a chance to really get comfortable in front of the camera before the big day. Marco is a little camera shy/impatient but at the end of the day we both LOVED IT! Hands down, I would recommend engagement photos be taken. The day gave us an opportunity to share with our loved ones what we are all about. We can have our endless, romantic moments but we also like to have so much fun together!
We love to share with our readers why couples chose their vendors for their wedding day. Janice and Marco made quite the connection with their photographer: Jonathan Scott is a one and only! When I was weighing my options, at first glance I looked at his website and thought to myself, "WOW! I want HIM!". What drew us to Jonathan was his incredible devotion and passion he has for photography and of course his keen eye for the perfect setting. His goal was to ultimately capture the essence of our relationship but more importantly our love for each other. Jonathan is a true director and producer, discussing theme and shoot locations while also studying us as a couple. We were excited before we even got to Miami! We were so amazed that he didn't believe in a time limit! We had such a BLAST!
To give you an idea, Jonathan was shooting us all morning and afternoon but we had to cut it early because we had another appointment. We were sad because we were having such a good time but guess who also offered to drive back through Miami Beach traffic to take some sunset photos!? Jonathan took the photos of us getting ready for our night out in South Beach on the terrace during sunset. That is what you call dedicated! Marco and I highly respect Jonathan and we are so looking forward to seeing our wedding photos!
Thank you so much for sharing your amazing day out in Miami with us Janice and Marco! We can't wait to see your beautiful wedding in a few months! xoxo
