Engaged: Melissa & Ryan’s Proposal Session in South Beach

We've featured many engagement sessions, but this is our first proposal session - and we're pretty much head-over-heels in love with the idea! Melissa, the bride-to-be, thought she was simply grabbing the chance to get a few gorgeous photos from the talented Maria Munoz while her boyfriend Ryan was on leave from Afghanistan. Ryan, however, had other plans.

From Maria: Melissa contacted me a few months ago and asked me to photograph a session with herself and her boyfriend. She mentioned that it was not an engagement session but would be special nevertheless as her boyfriend was going to be in his rest and relaxation break from Afghanistan. A few weeks later, I received a Facebook message from Ryan, her boyfriend, who contacted me from Afghanistan. He told me that he was actually proposing to Melissa and wanted me to capture it on camera. Of course I agreed right away and was incredibly excited to photograph them together. As the session got closer, I could tell Melissa had no idea what the day would hold for her.

The day of the session, I could tell Ryan was a little nervous and was trying to figure out the best time to pop the question. He asked me if we could move close to the water and that's when I knew that he was ready. Melissa was surprised, emotional and on cloud 9. The couple is incredible together and really are 100% crazy in love with each other.

Isn't it all just too beautiful? The happiness and love on their faces is really so amazing. Thanks to Maria for the gorgeous session, and best of luck to Melissa and Ryan... Ryan, be safe out there and come home soon!
