We have such a charming bit of loveliness for you today! High school sweethearts Katy and Andrew were married this past May (on Cinco de Mayo, in fact) at Queen's Harbour Yacht & Country Club in Jacksonville, surrounded by gorgeous oak trees and loads of southern spring charm. And luckily for them, Andrew's sister Sarah, of Moments by Sarah, was the talented photographer there to capture every beautiful moment of their day.
Katy and Andrew met in high school, through their youth group at church. Katy was Andrew's sister Sarah's best friend, and the couple nurtured secret crushes on each other for a few years before they began dating (with Sarah's happy approval!) in 2006. Says Katy, We didn't have any trouble choosing our wedding photographer. We love her and her work!
The wedding was easy going, fun and by far the best day in both of our lives. We liked aqua and peach because it was summery and light and since the ceremony was outdoors we wanted the palette to match. My bouquet featured my great grandmother's ivory brooch, which meant a lot to my family and it was the perfect way to incorporate some family history into the ceremony.
Aren't the bouquet and brooch just too lovely? I also love Andrew's fun patterned tie... all the elements were woven together perfectly, and Katy and Andrew looked so beautiful together!
I really fell in love with the photos from their ceremony. Andrew and Katy look so happy, joyful and in love... this is what it's all about!
Katy also shared a few special memories with us: My favorite part of the whole day was when Andrew and I read our vows to each other. We both decided we wanted to write our own so they were very personal and meaningful. At the end of the ceremony we made our marriage FBO (Facebook official) from the altar which was a lot of fun as well.
Another one of my favorite memories was seeing everyone run onto the dance floor wearing sombreros in true Cinco de Mayo fashion! Overall the day went as smoothly as it could've and we couldn't have been blessed with a more perfect day.
Congrats, Katy and Andrew! Thank you to you and Sarah for sharing this beautiful day with us.
