I'm so glad to be able to show you a different sort of engagement session today, thanks to Erika Delgado and the Whitelaw Hotel... modern and chic, with a dose of that South Beach sexy glamour. Looks like it was the perfect fit for this gorgeous couple.
From Erika: Amy and Ryan knew they wanted to show a ritzier and more glamorous look in their photos but they still wanted to stay by the beach to do some more casual photos afterwards. I suggested The Whitelaw Hotel. The hip hotel boasts a picture perfect location in the heart of the Art Deco district in Miami's South Beach, just steps away from beautiful beaches. I think this chic little spot made this session so much fun. Amy and Ryan sipped on some cocktails just before I arrived, the music was playing and the photos came to life! Just goes to show that sometimes a great venue choice can make the world of a difference in your photos.
Ryan and Amy met at J. Alexander's in Boca Raton, where Amy was a bartender. After a first chat over gelato, and a first 'real' date at Mai Kai, their relationship began. Ryan proposed two years later at Ryan's parent's home, as they were enjoying a perfect evening outside: Ryan started telling Amy how much he loved her and asking her if she would wait forever for him to propose. She said of course, I'll wait forever! At that point, he turned her around to face the balcony of the house to find Amy's family, Ryan's family and their closest friends screaming and shooting off streamers. As he got down on one knee and said the most magical words, WILL YOU MARRY ME?! Amy dropped to her knees and hugged Ryan shouting YES!
Amy and Ryan are getting married at the Addison, and have all of the planning almost wrapped up. From Amy: The Addison and Boca By Design have helped us along the way and created an amazing wedding day. We have had so much fun doing everything together, the wedding is going to show both of our personalities and be a huge party!
Working with Erika was truly a delightful experience. When we met for our initial consultation she was prepared with so many creative ideas, locations and themes to show us. We knew she was the perfect fit for our personalities. Throughout the shoot Erika was very creative and gave great direction to get the perfect shot. We couldn't be more happy with the final product and not to mention fun experience!
