I love being able to start off the week with a bright, happy, FUN dose of wedding inspiration... and thanks to Carrie Wildes Photography, we have this perfect St. Petersburg wedding at the Vinoy Renaissance to do just that!
Betsy and Dan affectionately refer to themselves as "Team 24" (and have that title engraved on the inside of their wedding bands); says Betsy, "I was born on April 24th, he was born on August 24th & he will never let me forget that I'm a whole 4 months older." The fun couple were living in Atlanta when they met on Match.com, and from their first date on they felt it was meant to be. Dan proposed two years later, on Friday, May 13, during a picnic in the park: "He had the chef of W Midtown prepare an amazing picnic basket for us which included chocolate covered strawberries for dessert. When dessert time came he asked me to feed him a strawberry, got on one knee, & proposed. Diamonds & chocolate!!! Friday the 13th will forever be a lucky day now."
Betsy shared some details with us about their planning process (and the story behind the adorable Toms the girls wore!): The best thing about Dan is that he wanted to be just as involved as I was in all the wedding details. We are both extremely detail oriented which led to the creation of our wedding binder, "The Beast". Each area of our wedding had its own tab & we put in all of our ideas at first but then quickly replaced ideas with our plans. Dan knew from the beginning that he wanted to wear & have all his guys wear black leather Chuck Taylors. I was immediately jealous because all their feet would be comfy so I decided that I wanted to have my gals & myself wear Toms. Plus, what perfect wedding party gifts. I wore the blue Toms & had my girls wear silver. One of the best decisions ever! To quote My Fair Lady, "I could have danced all night"!
I'm loving the gorgeous, modern new furniture at the Vinoy - it fit the style of their wedding so perfectly.
They held the ceremony outdoors in the beautiful Tea Garden, then moved the party into the Sunset Ballroom.
Says the bride: I love that I can look back at our wedding & say that EVERYTHING went as planned & I wouldn't have changed a thing except for the day flying by. Everyone told me that my wedding day would go by so fast but I never really believed them until my big day was over. It makes me laugh to think that so much planning went into one day that flew by...
That's the piece of advice that I always share with my couples, too - the day will fly by, so make sure to take the time to drink it all in and ENJOY it. Our biggest thanks to Betsy and Dan for sharing their fun and special day with us!
