Engaged: Teryn & Gareth in Seaside

When I received this engagement session, yes, I pretty much fell in love! An engagement session at a hip record store in the Panhandle of Florida with a sweet couple was just what I knew I had to share with our readers. I immediately emailed the other girls because I had to share how fun it was! With an adorable engagement story and couple that Dear Wesleyann captured, you can not help but love it.

I asked Teryn about how they met and their proposal and loved hearing about their long distance love story. From the bride to be Teryn: "We met while Gareth was in Panama City Beach visiting his father and family. After a few weeks away from home, you could guess a guy's going to need a haircut! His family sent him into my care. We struck up a friendship and a few weeks later we had our first date strolling 30A ending with dinner at the Red Bar in Grayton Beach."

After the first 3 months together, the time came for Gareth to return home to Wales. We built our relationship over a 6 hour time difference, 4:00am Skype dates and celebrating our cultural differences. We spent 6 months apart and Gareth was eager for me to come experience his world. While I was planning a work trip to New York, we decided I would catch a plane to London. Gareth and his mum were awaiting my arrival in Wales, I had no idea how my life would change. We spent the next day walking cliffs over looking the Welsh sea front, climbing the ruins of Candleston Castle and driving through settlements of thatched dwellings. Gareth laid next to me and we spoke of our total awe of each other. His voice started to shake and he simply said, "Babe, will you marry me?" The words that followed drowned in my tears and he reached for a box on top of a bookshelf pulling out a solitaire diamond ring. If our intuitive connection and that day of events were any indication of the life we could build together, how could I say no?! When I later asked if he had planned the proposal, he said he had so many ideas and had gotten so worked up about it the moment took over. It was honest and intimate.

We chose the Sun Dog Records shop in Seaside, Florida for our engagement session because we are everything but traditional. As artists ourselves, we believe in Wesleyann's work and wanted to support her craft. After Wesleyann heard of my career as a professional dancer and Gareth being a musician we were so happy when she shared her vision of wanting to encompass what we loved.

We found it nice to do engagement photos. I believe it was a great time to capture the moment in your relationship. There's a sense of wonder and refreshment in each other's presence. It's important to document the present, it's what is shaping our future. I would recommend to this to brides and grooms, absolutely. Our engagement photos were a one of a kind experience. I say, go all out!

Teryn said that they wanted to enjoy the experience of planning their wedding. "We wanted to stay true to what we feel a wedding means. Nature was our decor, family and only mutual friends were there to witness a soulful commitment and the clock was only a reference. To make us happy, we had little need to build too much pressure around time and extensive planning. So we chose a day to be thankful for and kept it casual!"

We hired Wesleyann because of everything behind the lens; her eye, heart, outlook and personality. I was introduced to her work through Diva Productions who have worked closely with Wesleyann for years. She had an instant fan in me. There is no one like her! Wesleyann brings a sense of calm and connection. Her work is proof of constant creative progression. Seeing people grow inspires me to do the same. Wesleyann isn't afraid to take the risks that come with true growth and that is what life is about.
