When you walk into V Seagrove, you get the feeling that you've made it. Big.
Florida's Panhandle boasted the biggest party of our 2012 road trip with close to 60 wedding professionals joining us for a swanky celebration at the new(ish) restaurant. It first opened its doors in April 2011 and has been turning heads ever since.
We'd like to think that all our guests were just as excited to meet us as they were to check out this incredible venue, but, we're okay if they just wanted to see this standout in person! It was definitely worth the trip. Some of our guests traveled well over 2 hours to mix and mingle. We all agreed that "V" is the Panhandle's answer to South Beach, with a focus on relaxed and warm hospitality.
From the get-go, Charlotte, V Seagrove's event planner, was accommodating and eager to have us all enjoy this brand new spot on Florida's Gulf Coast. She took Laura, Becca, and I on a tour of the grounds before our party began and let me tell you, we were sold.
She explained how Chef David Cunningham utilizes local farmer's produce, describing that, "all of my greens are found within 50 miles of here", some even from the restaurant's very own herb garden! Be still my eco-friendly heart!
With more and more talk of how eco-chic this venue is, it's not hard to fall in love. But in case we weren't head-over-heels already, Charlotte walked us across Highway 30A to the Viridian Sunrise Residence , a unique home with a classic design inspired by old Florida architecture circa 1940 to 1960. Otherwise, a stellar space for your wedding party to enjoy on your big day. As construction continues, this residence will soon have a mirror image sister-home just west of the green lawn and between these two homes, you'll be able to have a beautiful oceanfront ceremony or celebration. We think it would be perfect for the bride and her bridal party to prep at one home and the groom and his groomsmen at the other. Then they can meet in the middle for a picturesque vow exchange or pre-wedding kick-off overlooking the Gulf of Mexico.
The restaurant is available for complete buy-out for your wedding celebration or you can utilize the private meeting space for smaller guest lists. Soon enough, the gorgeous construction plans for the Hotel Viridian will be complete and more of your guests can stay in one of the twenty gulf view hotel studios. Could this place get any sweeter?
Chef Cunningham's menu changes about twice per week with his commitment of fisherman to table cuisine, striving to serve what is fresh and local. He stays away from typical coastal fried-food and offers items like the divine cheese board with homemade jams and tapenades that we munched on, as well as the calamari fritti and ahi tuna that I had to taste at the end of the night! I wonder if they can ship that coffee and lavender coated cheddar?
Their staff has a keen knowledge of wine and exotic bites, so I'm sure Chef Cunningham can promise a custom wedding menu to suit your taste. No doubt, your guests will be craving and talking about their dining experience for a long time. This place is a foodie-couple's dream come true, for real!
In true Southern-hospitality fashion, Charlotte and Chef Cunningham served us chilled champagne all night and hosted a perfectly fabulous soiree. It was a joy to meet all of the brilliant talent that lies in Florida's Panhandle and we're thrilled to have first-hand experiences with each of them. It means so much to us that we can encourage our readers to find professionals that know this region and love it for all it's worth. We certainly cannot wait to visit again!
If you think a place like V Seagrove could be your dream wedding venue, don't hesitate to contact Charlotte, just tell her we sent you!
