South Florida is an amazingly gorgeous place to have a wedding (and we should know, because we live here). So why isn't there more amazingly gorgeous inspiration available for couples planning their weddings here? That was our question, and Floridian Weddings is the answer.
Our goal: to bring you stylish inspiration and resources for weddings in our sunny paradise. We'll be blogging about real weddings from Jupiter down to the Keys and sharing the best vendors we can find with you... weeding out the over-the-top, cheesy and outdated and focusing on fresh, modern and creative. We hope you enjoy what we've put together, and we'd love to hear your feedback, suggestions and ideas!

About the Editors

When in the midst of planning an event, it's not unusual to hear Rebecca refer to one of her inspirations by first name - Martha, Colin, Marcy. In fact, she may have been the only college sophomore who kept a dog-eared copy of Weddings by Martha Stewart in her dorm room. After graduating from Syracuse University (Go Orangemen!) she moved to Washington D.C. and spent seven years planning events as catering manager at two of the most sought after event venues: the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and the Newseum. Following her heart, Rebecca packed up her city apartment and moved to Fort Lauderdale in 2010. Her move to South Florida influenced the beginning of her blog Urban Flip Flops where she displays her passion for all things lovely and pretty in the wedding world and beyond.
Rebecca is an avid planner and can think of any excuse to throw a party. You can usually find her dressed in sparkles, oversized flowers and anything pink. If not in the kitchen testing out new recipes, in the back yard by the pool enjoying some bubbly, or on a run with some girlfriends, then you will find her creating a full itinerary for her next trip. She lives in Fort Lauderdale in a little yellow beach bungalow with her "Beau."

Laura McGlynn is the owner and principal designer of Make Merry!, a custom invitation and event design studio located in downtown West Palm Beach. She graduated from the University of Florida in 1999 (go Gators!) and spent the next 10 years as a web and information designer, creating and building applications for a wide range of clients. Starting Make Merry! in 2009 brought her to blogging and, with it, an obsession with all things wedding.
Laura is an avid reader, loves photography and anything crafty, lives to travel, spends hours in the kitchen, obsesses over wine and heads out west to go skiing every once in a while. She lives with her husband in a funky little house by the ocean in Lake Worth.
