We adore when two people meet, fall in love, and have a happily ever after. It makes us smile even more when children are included in the fairytale, just like Zoey was when Denia and David were married. Sarah from 13:13 Photography shared their cheerful photos, just chock-full of springtime blooms and sunshine!
From the invitation to getting ready, Denia included Zoey in so many ways for the special day. It melts my heart seeing the sweet, pink flower girl dress hanging next to the lovely bridal gown. And that embrace! What a beautiful mother-daughter moment.
Denia and David love to travel, so naturally he planned a proposal while on vacation. From Denia:
It had been a dream of mine to go to Italy. So, for my birthday in the summer of 2011, David made my dream come true. Our first stop was Rome. On our second night there David told me he wanted us to go somewhere nice to celebrate our trip. He had this whole elaborate story planned. He told me that he had asked the concierge in the hotel for recommendations for dinner and made it seem like it was all very spur of the moment. We arrived at this beautiful, quaint restaurant; it was straight out of the movies: candle light, intimate, romantic, my favorite music was playing in the background...I was in awe and clueless! After we sipped a glass of prosecco and placed our dinner orders, David turned to me, took a black box out of his pocket, opened it and said "Would you please do me the honor of spending the rest of my life with me?" I was in shock. I couldn't believe it was all happening and happening in one of the most romantic places, in one of the most romantic ways I could have ever imagined. It was perfect!
I'm slightly obsessed with the stunning but simple ceremony floral decor. The bright pink peonies and roses pop in the sunshine. The whole scene looks so fresh and elegant for spring.
To honor Zoey during the ceremony, David presented a bracelet inscribed with their initials and wedding date as a keepsake for the day. What a kind and loving gesture. This little girl is so lucky to be loved so much!
The Diplomat proved to be a perfect location for both the ceremony and reception. According to Denia, "Once we chose the venue for our wedding ceremony and reception, things started to fall into place. We chose pink and green as our colors to compliment the natural colors found through out the property. For the reception, we named each table a place we had vacationed. For the food we wanted everything to be served family-style. Our first dance was a combination of 4 of our favorite songs. It ranged from Michael Buble to Sir Mix-a-Lot. Zoey, my 7 year old daughter, was a part of the dance as well."
And a little advice from the bride...
We loved it all, from start to finish. Try not to stress the day of the wedding, trust that you have chosen the right vendors and let it all go. Enjoy your day, it goes very fast. Also, if your photographer offers a photo booth or a faux-to-booth like ours did, do it! Our guest loved it and we had a blast looking through all the pictures a few weeks after the wedding.
Congratulations to this happy family and cheers to many years of smiles and blissful moments!
