I've found my new wedding crush... and I've fallen, big time. You won't believe the beauty today: the gorgeous and happy couple; the amazing oceanfront Orchid Island Golf and Beach Club; the lovely, thoughtful, meaningful details (that made it so perfectly Florida); and of course - the stunning photography. What's even better is that it was captured by the new-to-us, amazingly talented Shipra Panosian... and the wonderfully dear-to-us Kat Braman, who came along to lend her incredible film talents to the affair. I'm so excited to share it with you today!
Francesca is from Italy, Ned's family is from Chicago, and they live in the Northeast... but they love coming to Florida (in their own words) 'for it's natural beauty, beaches, relaxed atmosphere and friendly people'. For these reasons, and because Ned's parents live there, they chose the Orchid Island Golf and Beach Club as the venue for their destination wedding.
As Shipra tells us, "Once upon a time, there was a handsome Irishman, who fell in love with a free-spirited Italian woman. So they had a magical wedding under blue Florida skies where she sang him her vows and he laughed the whole way through them and the rest, as they say, is history…"
Francesca and Ned wanted an informal, expressive and meaningful ceremony... they wrote their own vows (Francesca sang hers, and Ned spoke part of his in Italian), and left out the traditional sand and candle ceremonies.
Francesca created the welcome gift bags and all of the paper goods for the wedding herself! Gorgeous.
The couple shared with a few more details behind their special day: "We wanted to keep the wedding small so we invited about 100, and in the end had 64 guests. To us it was perfect, we weren't running around trying to catch up with everyone and it felt intimate and fun while still knowing a great amount of people came to celebrate our day.
"We both are in the creative field, and love to experience new things. With that in mind we wanted to embrace the idea of travel, nature and staying unique. We did not want the traditional wedding in a church, with every formality. We wanted it to be a great party with those we love. We wanted the mood to be upbeat and joyful. We used bright colors, blue and orange as it was a Florida wedding and wanted to convey the tone of the day. Blues and oranges were colors that were thematic throughout our relationship that kept popping up."
And they gave the best advice ever: "Don't overstress! Don't over think. Keep it simple and remember why you are doing it. This should be symbolic of your entrance into marriage. Do you. Be Honest. And remember it is all for one of the most special days of your life."
I couldn't agree more! I think I'll be stealing "Do you" ... I think that sums it up just perfectly. Congratulations, Francesca and Ned! And huge thanks to Shipra (and Kat!) for sharing your incredible work with us... we're smitten.
